Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s or advanced degree is required. A specialization in Technology, Art, or design is preferred. Prior experience delivering and integrating technology in instructional programs for Pre K – 12 students, is required. Must possess or have the ability to secure a Professional level Florida teaching certificate in K-12. Possession of a certification on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) or Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) program from an accredited institution is required. Possession of all requirements set for Highly Qualified as defined by “No Children Left Behind” (NCLB) for the position held is required. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of 3D printing Technology and related software is required .Ability to appropriately communicate clearly with parents and children. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrate proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft software programs Ability to work a schedule that includes school events held on evenings, weekends and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position performs duties as an instructional team member and acts in an advisory role to students. The incumbent plans, organizes, instructs and provides learning experiences to Ahfachkee School students on the use of professional-level technology with applications across science, engineering, art, and design. The individual instructs students on cutting-edge applications, new learning tools, and innovative and creative learning environments, to develop and encourage core competencies related to creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving to support student achievement in the K-12 classrooms. This position reports to the Assistant Principal or designee and is an exempt position. This position is classified as a Professional-52; which requires a 42 week work period (approximately 10 months) paid across a 52 week (12 month) pay cycle.
