Adoption and Foster Care

NCAI works closely in partnership with the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA) on a variety of child welfare policy and program implementation issues including: the disproportionate representation of American Indian/Alaska Native children in the child welfare system, the financing of state and tribal child welfare systems, the implementation of the Indian Child Welfare Act, and the delivery of appropriate services to Native children and families.
