Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or Arts in Business Administration, Adult Education or Human Resources or related and two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong skills and abilities to deliver training on a broad spectrum of topics including soft skills and technology.

Ability to work with alternative delivery systems (ITV, video-conferencing, and web-conferencing, etc.).

Knowledge of adult learning theory and ability to develop and deliver group training activities and materials.

Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills essential.

Ability to learn new technology processes and business practices.

Knowledge of personal computers and working knowledge with a variety of software packages.

Experience delivering leadership curriculum strongly desired.

Ability to relate well with a diverse staff and the general public.

Demonstrated organizational skills essential with ability to be flexible and to multi-task.

Problem-solving skills essential.

Ability to travel and insurable under the District’s standard vehicle/liability insurance policy.

Required Education:
Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide a broad spectrum of general level training to employees as needed, i.e. soft skill training, team training, basic to intermediate technology training.
    • Develop user-friendly resource materials for employee training needs.
    • Maintain flexibility in instructional offerings to be able to complement the SOD staff; flexible to step in as needed.
    • Assist in evaluation of training effectiveness.
    • Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to model college values and promote the attainment of competencies.
    • Market Staff & Organizational Development products and services to employees.
    • Develop training schedules, obtain rooms and attend to other details of planning training sessions.
    • Assist in the registration, completion, tracking and data collection of Staff & Organizational Development activities.
    • Make customers and their needs a primary focus. Develop and sustain productive customer relations.
    • Maintain ongoing relationships with HR Partners, Supervisors and other employees to understand the training needs of the College.
    • Attend educational opportunities to maintain skills necessary to meet the training needs of a diverse learning institution.
    • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to normal office conditions and usual office equipment such as telephone, personal computer, printers/copiers, reports and files. The employee will be constantly required to sit, talk, hear, and type/write. The employee will be frequently required to stand, walk, touch/handle/grasp (using hands and fingers), and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally bend or squat and lift and/or push up to 10 pounds of general office items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision. This position requires regular and punctual employee presence.

Salary and Benefit: $51,741.00 (09-10 rates). Salary progression is at 90% for first year, 95% for second year and full salary at start of third year.
