Nashville, TN

The United South and Eastern Tribes and the National Congress of American Indians will co-host a two-day interactive “Reporting Water Quality Data and the Exchange Network” training workshop at the USET headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee on September 9-10.  The workshop topics include in-depth discussion of the FY10 Exchange Network solicitation, grant submission pointers, and live demonstrations of data management, mapping and reporting tools.

The goal of the workshop is to assist tribes in improving data management which may:

- assist in developing tribal water quality standards
- lead to environmental regulatory treatment similar to states
- build internal tribal capacity and enhance technology infrastructure
- utilize data from surrounding tribal and non-tribal jurisdictions
- cut costs in overall environmental program management
