NCAI  EPA Exchange Network Tribal Meeting Set for April 9-10


The National Congress of American Indians is in its third year of a cooperative agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Environmental Information to increase and enhance tribal participation in the National Environmental Information Exchange Network (EN).  As part of that relationship, NCAI will sponsor the third National Tribal Users meeting, April 9-10, 2008, at the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians’ Spa Resort Casino, Palm Springs, California.  The EN is an EPA Program is designed to facilitate environmental data management and support data submission, and has helped tribes improve their environmental program monitoring, management, and reporting.

Topics include:  EN policy and program updates by EPA officials and presentations by tribal EN program directors also serving on the EN governance board; Exchange Network Strategic Plan; EN Draft Tribal Strategy; Open Dump standards; and, proposed tribal panel presentations for the Exchange Network National Meeting in Nashville the last week in April.
