Kevin Gover


 

Kevin Gover is a member of the Pawnee Tribe of Oklahoma and a Professor of Law at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. After graduating from Princeton University, where he majored in Public and International Affairs, Professor Gover attended the University Of New Mexico School Of Law. Private practice followed, first with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Kampelman in Washington, D.C., and later with Gover, Stetson & Williams in Albuquerque. In 1997, Professor Gover was selected by President Clinton to serve as Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Indian Affairs. After leaving government in 2001, Professor Gover was a partner in Steptoe & Johnson, LLP. In addition to his teaching duties, Professor serves as Co-Executive Director with Dr. Eddie Brown of the American Indian Policy and Leadership Development Center at ASU. He also serves as a Judge for the Tonto Apache Tribal Court of Appeals and the San Carlos Apache Tribal Court of Appeals, as well as on the Boards of Directors of Verde Valley School and Futures for Children, Inc.
