The United South and Eastern Tribes and the National Congress of American Indians will co-host a two-day interactive “Reporting Water Quality Data and the Exchange Network” training workshop at the USET headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee on September 9-10.  The workshop topics include in-depth discussion of the FY10 Exchange Network solicitation, grant submission pointers, and live demonstrations of data management, mapping and reporting tools.

The Department of Justice has announced a consultation with Tribal leaders to solicit recommendations from tribal governments on three topics:

 

 

• Administering grant funds appropriated for tribal governments and programs created to benefit tribal governments by the Violence Against Women Act;

• Enhancing the safety of Indian women from domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking; and

• Strengthening the Federal response to crimes of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
