Veterans

American Indian and Alaska Native veterans have served with distinguished commitment and valor in defense of their homelands throughout the history of this country.  They have served, in the past and currently, in higher numbers than any ethnic group.  The achievements of American Indian and Alaska Native veterans to true homeland security in war and peace are too numerous to list and the warrior spirit of these men and women contrasts greatly with their humbleness and continued contributions to their tribal communities.  Unfortunately, veteran services and benefits that native veterans are entitled to fall short of their needs and is less adequate than their non-Indian counterparts.  The NCAI proudly seeks fair and dignified treatment of all veterans and also advocates for federal support and funding of American Indian and Alaska Native veterans programs and services.
