What is the Project on the Judiciary?

The Project on the Judiciary is a part of the Tribal Sovereignty Protection Initiative. The Project's purpose is to increase dialogue and understanding between Indian County and the federal judiciary. The Project focuses on research, education and outreach. Outreach efforts include educating the federal judiciary about Indian law and tribal issues, educating tribes about the federal judiciary and the judicial nominations process, and educating elected officials and the public at large about the need for judges in the federal courts who understand the unique legal status of Indian tribes.
