Below is a listing of consultation letters and materials organized by federal agency. In 2009, President Obama issued an Executive Memorandum that directs all federal agencies to develop a plan within 90 days for consultation and coordination with tribal governments under President Clinton’s Executive Order 13175. Executive Order 13175 requires that Federal Agencies conduct regular and meaningful consultation with tribal officials in the development of Federal policy. On December 14, 2009 NCAI sent a letter to all agency leaders to offer assistance in meeting the President’s charge and to urge them to engage meaningfully with tribes.
This information is provided to inform tribal leaders about agency consultation efforts following the 2009 memorandum.
