Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a similarly related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in transportation planning, transportation engineering, long-range planning, land development, and project management is required; any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will be considered. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida is highly desirable. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required, including English written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft software programs. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Public Works Director with the overall oversight, planning, organization, and management of strategic planning of roads and transportation-related activities for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual assists in creating, formulating, and implementing strategic and operational goals and objectives to execute transportation strategies, including updates to the roadway and transit transportation plans and projects. The incumbent evaluates transportation operations' efficiency and effectiveness and provides technical advice and directives to departmental management. Work involves significant development of tasks assigned by the Director and TCD Executive Director, requiring a high level of expertise, coordination, and analysis.
