Job Description: Warm Valley Health Care serves Eastern Shoshone citizens and other community members on the Wind River Reservation through a federally funded 638 program administered by the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) role offers the opportunity to lead clinical care, support providers, and build long-term systems within a close-knit rural community.
Skills and Qualifications:M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certified/eligible
Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a physician from a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States
Active DEA License
Current BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certification
Current with Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Eligible for and able to maintain WVHC credentialing and privileging.
Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical or healthcare administration preferred.
Clinical Leadership & Administration (~50%)
Provide senior clinical leadership and oversight for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
Guide quality, safety, and patient-centered care across all services
Advise the CEO on clinical operations, staffing, and care delivery strategy
Lead quality improvement, accreditation, credentialing, and regulatory compliance efforts
Support recruitment, supervision, and professional development of clinical staff
Collaborate with Tribal leadership, community partners, and regional health systems
Oversee referrals, specialty care coordination, and Purchase Referred Care priorities
Participate in policy development, strategic planning, and public health response
Clinical Practice (~50%)
Provide direct outpatient care and maintain an active patient panel
Serve as a clinical consultant and mentor to providers and staff
Review and approve specialty referrals
Maintain required licensure, credentials, and clinical privileges
$275,000 - 300,000 annually with negotiable relocation benefits and signing bonus
