Your Role
The Clinical Data Analyst is a key member of the healthcare team, contributing to a data-driven quality program by collecting, organizing, and analyzing clinical and operational data that inform quality improvement and organizational performance. The role collaborates with Quality, Clinical Informatics, and clinical teams to produce accurate reporting, generate meaningful insights, support quality initiatives, and enhance data accuracy across the organization
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare informatics, Data Science, Public Health, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and healthcare analytics experience.
Experience working with clinical or healthcare operational data.
Proficiency with Power BI, Excel, or similar analytic tools.
Experience working with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
Familiarity with healthcare quality measures (e.g., UDS, eCQMs, MIPS) or willingness to learn.
Basic SQL knowledge or willingness and ability to learn quickly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate data into meaningful information.
Understanding of HIPAA and data privacy requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel locally and regionally assigned
Valid Driver’s License
Successful completion of a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
Experience with tribal healthcare programs, governments, or community health organizations (e.g., FQHCs).
Experience with DAX, SQL, or report automation.
Knowledge of value-based care models or population health analytics.
Experience building or maintaining data dictionaries, data standards, or documentation.
Training or certification in healthcare quality, informatics, or analytics (CPHQ, CHDA, etc.).
Qualifications
Washington State Medical Assistant Certification eligibility for level A. C. E. preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing processes preferred
Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Other Duties:
Assist in the development, maintenance, and validation of recurring and ad hoc reports to support clinical quality, operational monitoring, and organizational performance.
Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI and other analytic tools to support provider, clinic, and leadership reporting needs, in alignment with established data definitions and quality standards.
Respond to and fulfill clinical, operational, and quality reporting requests in a timely manner, coordinating with the Quality Manager as needed to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational priorities.
Conduct data validation, troubleshooting, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Document data sources, definitions, and logic using standardized templates.
Assist with development of automated reporting processes and efficient data workflows.
Support extraction, analysis, and reporting of Quality data for internal quality improvement other regulatory or grant-driven measures.
Assist with chart abstraction, denominator validation, and clinical documentation workflow alignment.
Work with the Quality Manager to monitor provider- and clinic-level quality performance.
Contribute to identifying care gaps and supporting tools and workflows for panel management and population health activities
Maintain shared reporting resources such as data definitions, templates, and documentation to promote consistency.
Analyze operational and clinical workflow data (e.g., visit access, no-show trends, continuity of care, panel size, patient demographics) to help evaluate performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement
Prepare summaries, trends, and performance insights for quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide data needed for quality assurance and quality improvement projects
Collaborate with operational leaders to interpret data findings and support process improvement activities focused on efficiency, access, and patient experience
Assist in the development and maintenance of data definitions, data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation standards that support consistent reporting.
Support simple ETL processes and contribute to the creation of clean, structured datasets over time.
Promote compliance with standardized reporting logic, definitions, and governance practices across the organization.
Maintain organized workflows for receiving, tracking, and fulfilling reporting requests.
Assist in preparing accurate data submissions required for regulatory, accreditation, or grant reporting.
Support preparation for internal and external audits involving clinical documentation, quality metrics, or operational data.
Follow all applicable HIPAA, privacy, and data governance policies in all data handling activities.
Work in partnership with Quality, Clinical Informatics, operations, and providers to understand data needs and reporting requirements.
Communicate clearly about reporting timelines, challenges, and data interpretation with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and administrative departments.
Present data insights in clear, easy-to-understand formats for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Assist with staff training on data literacy and dashboard use as appropriate.
Participate in relevant committees, work groups, and QI initiatives.
Participate in continuing education and professional development aligned to analytics and healthcare quality.
Adhere to JST policies and procedures, including HIPAA and safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
