This is a senior level position that provides Clinical Supervision to staff Social Workers providing a full range of intake and/or ongoing social casework services for a variety of program areas such as child abuse and neglect cases, youth-in-conflict cases, and adults unable to protect their own interests. This position also provides clinical supervision and oversees the Family Treatment Therapist and the Foster Care Program Coordinator.

Skills & Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a MA/MS in Social Work (MSW) or related human services field. Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor in any state and have the ability to obtain licensure in CO within one year. Must have 5 years of experience in social services casework, child/adult protection, and file management with increasing levels of responsibility. Must have contract & grant management experience. Must have experience using electronic file management systems. This is a senior level position that requires knowledge of the theories, principles, and concepts of social casework practice (assessment and treatment oriented) related to all of the assigned program areas. Knowledge of the following is also required: social group work principles and methods; medical symptoms related to injuries or failure to thrive in children; battered child syndrome, and the laws dealing with child abuse, neglect and other dependency conditions; problems of the elderly, persons with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities, alcohol and substance dependence; interviewing techniques, crisis intervention methods, and relevant treatment modalities; community resources, rules and regulations specific to profession. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including on-call. Must have valid Driver’s License for state of residency and be insurable through Tribal Vehicle Insurance Policy. Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Familiarity with the Southern Ute Indian reservation, culture, and traditions. Able to speak and understand the Ute language. TERO preference.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provides Clinical supervision to the Social Services staff to ensure effective care and quality of services. 2. Coordinates and conducts weekly staff clinical supervision. 3. Monitors and reviews all client case records in 90-day intervals. Ensures cases are in compliance with tribal/BIA guidelines 4. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with staff, coworkers, Tribal Departments, community agencies, educational institutions, and the public. 5. Responsible for the facilitation of in-service trainings for the division staff. 6. Prepares reports for appropriate documentation of B.I.A. contracts and Title IV E contracts. Works in conjunction with the Division Head to ensure program compliance of all required BIA and Tribal forms. 7. Responsible for development and management of placement contracts and renewals when appropriate. 8. Ensures program compliance with agencies of contracted services. 9. Assigns referral cases to case management staff. 10. Carries a client caseload when the division is experiencing a staff shortage or a heavy caseload. 11. Assists in the training and orientation of new Social Workers, Therapists, and/or other staff as appropriate. 12. Serves as on-call supervisor as scheduled. 13. Performs duties and responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner which does not negatively impact the program, the clients, or the credibility and effectiveness of the position. 14. Assumes the position of Acting Social Services Division Head when the Division Head is out of the office. 15. Provides case management summaries to the Division Head as required and offers feedback to the Division Head on Social Worker and Therapist effectiveness. 16. Seeks and engages in continuing education to maintain current licenses and certifications and to maintain knowledge of best practices and current information concerning the position. 17. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Division Head.
