Job Description
Supervises and coordinates Accounting office staff in day-to-day activities in maintaining the accounting system and providing all necessary financial statements and management reports in accordance with established laws, regulations, policies, procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards.

Their ability to interpret relevant laws and regulations and make informed decisions ensures effective and responsible performance in a professional setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.Five years progressive work experience controlling centralized accounting activity for multiple fund programs and/or accounts. Two years in management capacity.CPA preferred.MBA preferred.Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with ability to meet Seminole Nation liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.Must be able to pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies.Must be able to comply with the Seminole Nation Drug Free Workplace policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
The candidate oversees and manages all accounting operations to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), funding source requirements, and tribal, state, and federal regulations. They maintain a strong system of internal controls over financial transactions, assets, budgeting, and compliance. Their responsibilities include monitoring cash flow, reviewing funding requests, and ensuring accurate general ledger balances. The candidate prepares and reviews month-end financial statements, including balance sheets, operating statements, and cash flow reports, while developing and enforcing sound accounting policies and procedures. They lead the accounting team by setting goals, overseeing reconciliations, disbursements, and audits, and ensuring accuracy in payroll, accounts payable, and receivable. Additionally, they assist with budgeting, tax filings, and audits, and provide management with timely financial analyses and recommendations. The candidate also reviews insurance policies, ensures effective communication across departments, and promotes staff development through meetings and professional training. Their leadership ensures consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all financial and administrative functions.
