The Senior Database Management Officer assists the Associate Director of Database Management in Development. The Senior Database Management Officer supports the engagement of First Nations Development Institute and donors through database management and administration, gift administration, document management, and works as team with the Database Coordinators and Donor Database Assistant

Skills & Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Requirements • At least five years of database management supervisory experience • Availability to travel frequently (once a month) • Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data • Knowledge of and proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and NXT or similar fundraising software. Preferred Requirements 4 • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience • Advanced knowledge in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge database and NXT views, Research Point/Wealth point, along with Microsoft Excel • At least five years of experience in a nonprofit organization and/or resource development • At least five years of experience of non-profit organizations, fundraising, and practices KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS • Comfortable learning new software and databases • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Strong written, verbal, and listening skills • An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills • Positive attitude and effective in working with people at all levels of experience/proficiency • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment • Competent self-starter who takes initiative and works independently • Strong administrative ability with keen attention to detail • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, and work under pressure to meet deadlines on multiple job assignments with minimal supervision • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong attention to detail • Knowledge of relational database software • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including use of formulas and macros • Ability to work well within a diverse team and across departments and with external constituents • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment • Commitment to staying abreast of software and training opportunities to enhance/improve data collection and utilization • Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in nontechnical terms MEASURES OF SUCCESS 1. Teamwork and collaboration with all colleagues PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 5 • Move for periods of time up to one hour during an 8-hour day • Capable of communicating and interacting with leadership, staff, and associates • Moderate noise consistent with general office environment. • Lift, push, pull, or carry objects of up to 10 pounds on occasion • Hybrid work schedule possible after first 90 days of employment (two days in office, two days at home)

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential job duties are performed in adherence to First Nations’ standards, policies, and procedures, and to local, State, and Federal laws and regulations. 2 • The Senior Database Management Officer is a key member of the Development team and the comanager of the First Nations’ donor database (Raiser’s Edge)—managing its operations, functionality, and data integrity to ensure the fundraising efforts are data-informed and run efficiently. • The Senior Database Management Officer is responsible to meet First Nations’ Strategic Planning goals for Database Management. • The ideal candidate will understand the relationship between data capturing accuracy and donor/fundraiser relationship building, the importance of data collection best practices. • Assist and train Development staff and front-end users on the Raiser's Edge database. • Co-manage Data operations with the Associate Director of Database Management. Data Operations is integral to the success of fundraising goals, and for providing support to other departments in the organization. • Consistent and clear communication with teammates to ensure correct usage of platforms, while maximizing its functionalities and helping to meet the organization’s revenue goals. • Ensure high standards of quality, consistency, and accuracy across all development records. • Support various aspects of fundraising strategy and execution including the annual fundraising appeals, donor/prospect cultivation, and stewardship plans. Assist with platforms used for online communications and pipeline development. • Serve as back-up Development database administrator, overseeing the integrity, performance and quality of data, systems (including Raiser's Edge and RE NXT, OLX, Research Point, etc.) and constituent information. • Design database queries, imports, exports, annual stewardship reports, and other regular reports. • Co-manage and monitor day-to-day operation of the data system, establish user access, maintain support tables, and perform necessary technical adjustments and updates. • Ensure the integrity and security of database information. • Process Target Analytics services such as Deceased Finder, Address Accelerator, Address Finder, etc. and Wealth Ratings. • Collaborate with the First Nations’ finance office, IT department, and other First Nations departments, as well as, Blackbaud and other related software vendors. • Assist and coach the Gift and Database Coordinators and Donor Database Assistant to ensure continued learning through training and professional development and increase staff capacity, skills, knowledge, and opportunities for career growth. This may include maintenance, quality assurance, tracking and donor communications, etc. 3 • Provide support to the Individual Giving team, including management of solicitations (renewals and acquisition), gift and participation reporting. • Assist and manage gift acknowledgement processes. • Ensure First Nations’ compliance with regulations governing fundraising and gift processing. • Collaborate with Associate Director of Database Management on the development of business processes for the Development office. • Provide database training to Development staff and other front-end users, and draft procedural documentation. • Collaborate with Individual Giving and Development team to track and report on fundraising progress and donor trend. • Ensure data quality of donor records, lists and reports to accurately report on and track progress. • Collaborate with vendors and keep abreast of new database features and trends to maximize database optimization and performance. • Lead cross-departmental data integration discussions relating to the impact of changes on various users, standardization of data entry and development of reports and data exports to meet the needs of First Nations. • Provide support and training in use of the application, including orientation for all new Development staff and specialized training in response to changing roles, business processes and database functionality. • Assist with third-party companies/vendors on direct mail and manage all aspects through to completion. Salary & Benefits

$70,400 to $94,250 annually.
