Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

5+ years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within retail, lifestyle, or art-based industries.

Proven experience managing direct reports, contractors, and vendors.

Strong background in multi-channel marketing, public relations, and digital growth strategies.

Shopify experience strongly preferred.

Experience managing website content, press kits, and online brand presence.

Act as primary owner for website maintenance for product, content and design.

Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to engage press and media partners professionally and strategically.

Cultural awareness and sensitivity required; knowledge of Native American and/ or First Nations issues and previous experience working in Indian Country preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and sales across store, e-commerce, wholesale and digital platforms.

Align marketing initiatives with business goals, creative direction, and cultural mission for product launches and on-going business growth.

Define KPIs and continuously evaluate campaign effectiveness and ROI, incorporate industry best practices.

Ideate new strategies for customer acquisition, engagement and revenue generation.

Team, Vendor & Contractor Management

Lead, mentor, and manage marketing staff to foster collaboration, quality, creativity, and accountability.

Manage external agencies, vendors, and contractors, ensuring alignment with brand standards, quality expectations, and timelines.

Balance internal and external resources to meet strategic priorities.

Visual Assets & Creative Collaboration

Own the process for all visual content production (photo and video shoots), managing scheduling, logistics, site, contractors, and budgets.

Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to ensure cohesive storytelling and consistent brand identity across all touchpoints.

Maintain strong visual and voice standards in all marketing outputs.

Own creation of marketing assets for in-person events and other business uses.

Public Relations, Media & Brand Representation

Create and maintain brand press kits to ensure consistent external representation of the brand’s visual and voice standards.

Develop and grow press and media contact lists; manage ongoing relationships with journalists, influencers, and media partners.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all external engagement requests, including press, media, film, television, and documentary inquiries, ensuring all collaborations align with brand values and represent the company and its tribal owners with integrity and respect.

Lead events for the brand, in conjunction with the cross functional team to present the brand positively

Proactively seek and manage opportunities that uplift the brand, the artists, the company’s tribal owners, and the communities they represent.

Digital Marketing & Site Ownership

Oversee maintenance and updates of the company website, ensuring brand consistency, functionality, and accuracy from home to product pages, artist and company information, all through to the customer checkout process.

Manage and maintain online listings and brand information (Google Business, Yelp, social media platforms, and directories) to ensure accurate store locations, hours, and offerings.

Lead SEO, SEM, and digital content strategies to enhance online engagement and visibility.

Create and implement a holistic Social Media strategy to create opportunities across all channels of business

Cultural Stewardship & Community Engagement

Ensure all marketing communications honor and accurately represent Eighth Generation’s values, mission and standards.

Lead the company’s Inspired Natives Scholarship Award process, in conjunction with the business development team.

Facilitate the management of the blanket design contest, in conjunction with the creative team.

Collaborate with artists and cross-functional team members to ensure authentic representation.

Support initiatives and partnerships that strengthen connections between the brand and the wider community.

All other duties as assigned

Salary & Benefits

$80,000-100,000 annually
