MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: 1) High school diploma or GED certification; 2) Two years experience in meal planning, RDA, nutrition, cooking and meal preparation for large quantities; 3) Two years supervisory and budgeting experience; 4) Ability to obtain Food handler’s certification; 5) First Aid and CPR certified or ability to attain certification 30 days from the time of selection. 6) Certified Food Manager’s Certification must be attained within 3 months of hire. 7) Willing to go to InterTribal Council of Arizona (ITCA) training; 8) Grant Writing experience preferred 9) Current AZ drivers license and meet FMYN insurance policy standards.
TASKS: Oversees the provision of meals to elderly, including home meals or transportation to center for meals; applies for yearly funding from state, tribal and inter-tribal sources each year; provides justification for funding; prepares reports on funding usage; attends meetings regarding issues on aging. Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates assigned staff; oversee the purchase of food, supplies and equipment; supervises the maintenance and operation of equipment; transports elderly to and from center as needed; assists with delivery of home meals; provides information or refers elderly to community services as needed; performs other duties as assigned or required; properly apply knowledge and skills to maximize deliverables of the Elderly Liaison and Outreach Program. Plans, organizes and coordinates a community recreation program for senior adults, including physical activities, health activities, and special interest classes and programs. Monitors expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control and prepares annual budget requests. Organizes and supervises classes, workshops and activities for senior adults engaged in recreation programs and co-sponsored programs. Surveys leisure interests and needs of senior adults. Select plans and implements physical activities and special interest leisure and fitness activities for adults. Prepare for publication, a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers, and related communications regarding senior adult programs. Promotes interest and provides information regarding senior adult programs to community leaders, recreation officials, community service groups, other departments, and the general public. Studies and standardizes procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Serve as a member of various employee committees, as assigned.
