The Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine is pleased to announce openings for two full-time Technical Assistance and Data Specialist positions to support grant-funded initiatives, primarily VAWA MEI, the Violence Against Women Act Measuring Effectiveness Initiative.
The VAWA MEI team supports programs across the country that are funded by grants from the federal Department of Justice (DOJ) Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). The team helps OVW grantees report accurate data about their work, so they provide a compelling illustration of the scope and burden of violence, as well as the complex multi-system interventions that OVW funds to address it. OVW grantees include Tribal Governments and Tribal Coalitions as well as organizations that serve Culturally Specific and Underserved communities and VAWA MEI values having staff from these communities on our team.
We strive to create an inclusive and equitable work environment, where diverse employees thrive, feel valued, and have a true sense of belonging. The VAWA MEI team is also dedicated to continuing to cultivate a workforce that reflects the diverse identities and lived experiences of the communities we serve. We welcome and encourage applicants who can read, write, and speak Spanish, who are American Indian and Alaska Native, people of color, immigrant, LGBTQ+, and from other underrepresented communities, as well as people of all ages and abilities, to apply.
We are looking for applicants with a keen interest in data analysis and who are highly detail oriented, with strong written and oral communication skills. Some knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite software and qualitative and quantitative research methods is expected. Previous education and/or interest in the field of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or related issues is preferred.
The Technical Assistance and Data Specialist is an entry-level position that will help colleagues to collect, compile, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data pertaining to OVW projects concerning domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. With staff guidance, they will provide technical assistance to OVW grantees through webinar training, and via Zoom, telephone, and email communication. They will assist in data analysis, policy analysis, data processing, data quality review, applied research, and program evaluation within the Catherine Cutler Institute.
This is a grant funded position with a starting annual salary up to $43,500 commensurate with experience.
