Seneca Gaming Corporation 

The Corporate Counsel provides legal advice, counsel and representation in support of all operational, risk management and compliance activities, broadly collaborating across departments and functional areas. Primary responsibilities include contract drafting, review, and negotiation, and ensuring that all commercial arrangements protect the enterprise’s legal, financial, compliance, and sovereign interests. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct criminal history search and meets with persons arrested and in custody before arraignment to perform pretrial risk assessments, determine eligibility for Wellness Court, and make recommendations to the Court regarding release conditions. • Direct and counsel adult and juvenile defendants regarding the conditions of release and probation conditions, including payment of restitution, fines, and other costs associated with supervision. • Conduct field visits (home, work, treatment facility, or jail, conferences office visits, and breathalyzer/ urinalysis in connection with investigation and supervision terms established by the Court. • Supervise adults and juvenile defendants placed on pretrial services and probation for compliance with the orders of the Court, inform the court of compliance, and make recommendations. • Conduct and monitor assessments to identify criminogenic risks and needs and develop case plans based on identified needs. • Recommend rehabilitation, treatment, and remedial actions to the Court • Conduct observed random Urinalysis and Breath tests and properly care for and secure each sample with confirmation, maintaining chain of custody for calibration, training, samples, printouts, and logs for each test result, and after testifying in court, ensure reimbursement to the Nation. • Initiate and attend court actions and make recommendations for violations of release or probation. • Direct and refer probations to community resources such as treatment centers, or other agencies based on observation of activities, assessments, behavior, and conditions of release or probation. • Prepare electronic and written reports including but not limited to investigative presentence and pretrial, disposition, transfer, violation, and treatment, and make recommendations to the Court. • Administer and maintain adult and juvenile electronic monitoring systems and reimbursement to the Nation. • Comply with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Tribal Court Code of Employee Conduct. • Performs other duties assigned or required.

Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Supervise adults and juveniles placed on probation by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Tribal Court. Supervise adults and juveniles on parole or are otherwise directed to comply with terms or conditions set forth in any court order.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Knowledge of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Constitution, Law and Order Code, Arizona Revised Statutes and Federal Indian Law; • Knowledge of probation and judicial protocol, proceedings, practices; • Knowledge of community, regional and state counseling, support and social services programs and resources; including treatment facilities, evidence-based substance abuse, and co-occurring disorder, trauma assessments, and resources for ASAM Criteria levels of care and dosage requirements; • Knowledge of evidence-based risk assessments, (i.e. LSIR-V CMI, OST, FROST). • Knowledge and experience with Wellness (Therapeutic) Court programs. • Knowledge of Domestic Violence Case Supervision; • Knowledge of Sex Offenders Case Supervision • Knowledge of Full Court electronic supervision and drug court modules; • Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, i.e. (MRT, SRT, MATRIX, THINKING FOR A CHANGE) • Skill in drafting, preparing, and presenting release conditions, pre-sentence, and pre-dispositional reports. • Skill in preparing for and testifying in Court. • Skill in developing, maintaining and monitoring individual treatment programs/plans utilizing Tribal and/or outside resources at times that may be outside of normal business hours/days; • Skill in breath testing, urinalysis, and chain of custody. • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation while also maintaining the impartial role of the Tribal Court. QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Bachelor’s degree in administration of justice, behavioral science, social work or related field and two years’ work experience as a probation officer, parole officer, law enforcement officer, court staff, or equivalent, which would demonstrate the ability to perform the job. (Master's degree and probation work experience preferred.) 2) Certification from a state or tribal probation academy or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire or equivalent preferred. Certification as a facilitator for cognitive behavioral and substance abuse and recovery group therapies preferred. 3) Must have a current Arizona driver’s license and meet FMYN insurance standards. 4)Certification in breath alcohol testing and certification urinalysis testing preferred
