Duties & Responsibilities• Coordinate recruitment visits to high schools, two-year colleges, tribal colleges, and community agencies to increase our presence and networking opportunities.• Disseminate UIC information at campus open house events; local and national college fairs; local events in the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) community, such as powwows; and day/night/weekend events related to the recruitment of AI/AN students.• Advise prospective students (undergraduate, transfer, and non-traditional students) on academic and other matters, such as applying to UIC, financial aid, and scholarships.• Create and lead activities to increase the yield of AI/AN students who are admitted to UIC. Meet with each of the 21 Indigenous Hoops and engage with leadership across all 12 Washington State Department of Corrections facilities to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Hoops. Attend select annual powwows during the summer season. Liaise with the third-party DOC contractor that coordinates the Hoops.

Facilitate the annual sub-granting process for the 21 Indigenous Hoops (January to March) and advocate for the ongoing development and health of the Hoops.

Plan and help facilitate the Annual Welcome Home Celebration in November and assist with the promotion and screenings of the documentary, “Resilience Inside.”

Huy 

 (pronounced "hoyt") is a Washington State-based 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) non-profit corporation established in 2012 to provide religious, cultural, and rehabilitative support for Indigenous prisoners in the Pacific Northwest. The organization, whose name means "see you again/we never say goodbye" in the Coast Salish Lushootseed language, was founded to address violations of Indigenous religious rights within state prisons and to foster healing through traditional spiritual practices.

Largely volunteer-driven under the leadership of highly respected Indigenous rights attorney and advocate Gabe Galanda,

What You’ll Do
In coordination and collaboration with the SEACC team, you’ll work to further SEACC’s mission and vision in these key areas:
● Represent SEACC in agency proceedings, public hearings, and coalition settings;
● Help translate complex legal and regulatory issues into accessible materials for SEACC staff, partners, and the public;
● Conduct legal research and analysis as well as produce written technical comments on proposed state and federal actions;

the analyst level this role will be a critical contributor to our team, while the more senior director level would be a team leader position with the possibility of supervisory responsibilities. We are looking for someone who is innovative, creative, and passionate about Southeast Alaska, who can serve as our analyst and commenter on a wide array of technical and legal documents and permit applications, and lead our participation in processes with signifi cant regulatory and legal components. TERA is a young organization in a dynamic growth phase, and building a team of professionals who are deeply committed to TERA’s vision.

The Program Coordinator provides coordination and logistical support for TERA’s diverse set of education, outreach, and training programs. Working closely with the Program Director and other TERA staff, the Program Coordinator:

Assists with program planning and development

Develops and distributes promotional materials and program-related communications

Coordinates and participates in outreach activities, interfacing with Tribal and non-Tribal communities

Handles logistics and participant coordination for educational and training events ranging from a single day workshop to a four-week fellowship, including trainings and burns that are part of TERA’s EcoCultural Fire program and the Lake County EcoCultural TREX

In addition, the following are required minimum qualifications for this position:

Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, ecology, natural resource management, or similar field

Minimum 2 years experience effectively supporting Tribal or nonprofit programming in program logistics, outreach, education, or stewardship work

Minimum 1 year experience working with Tribal communities; willingness to learn about contemporary challenges, concerns, and interests of Lake County tribal community and ecology

Strong writing, storytelling, and communications skills with the ability to listen and speak effectively.

Expertise with office technology, including Google suite (Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive), MS Office suite (Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat, videoconferencing (Zoom, Meet), and ability to learn new software and technology

Patient, personable and approachable attitude. Able to work with diverse people, build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external partners.

Able to develop and follow a prioritized plan of work, set and keep deadlines and work on multiple projects concurrently, and manage competing demands.

Optional but desired qualifications for this position:

Working knowledge of Pomo languages or Native language revitalization

1+ years experience as a practitioner of ecocultural stewardship

1+ years experience with community engagement and outreach

1+ years experience in digital communications, storytelling, and/or media production

The Associate Judge conducts proceedings as assigned and shall preside over all civil and criminal, and juvenile cases and arraignments as needed.

The Associate judge is a full-time position.The terms of employment will be set forth in the contract between the Associate Judge and the Chief Judge.

The Associate Judge must be of high moral character and integrity; must have never been convicted of a criminal offense for which punishment of imprisonment was imposed; must not have been dishonorably discharged from any Branch of Armed Services/; and, must be a member in good standing of the bar of any State Court.

The Associate Judge conducts proceedings as assigned and shall preside over all civil, criminal and juvenile cases; and arraignments as needed.

·Extensive knowledge of the laws, rules, policies and procedures that pertain to the applicable Tribal, Federal and State laws as applicable to the Fort Berthold District Court

·Knowledge of the equipment and use of computers, office software and application, and general office equipment.

·Be able to research case law pertaining to decision making on a case.

·Skilled in interpreting judicial policies, rules, guidelines, procedures and must perform legal research.

·Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

·Analytical and decision-making ability.

·Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.

·Licensure as an attorney eligible to practice law in a State jurisdiction.

·Experience in the practice of law which includes court experience.

·Experience in Federal Indian law is preferable.

Work is performed in a courtroom and an office setting.The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.

The ability to deal with demands of a stressful environment is recommended due to the nature of the subject matter.
