Under the guidance of the Tax Commissioners or their designee, the selected law firm will provide legal services to the Wichita Tax Commission. Proposals must demonstrate a detailed understanding of, and experience with federal, state and tribal laws relevant to the Wichita Tax Commission. The firm’s proposal should outline expertise and experience in the following key areas:
• Legal representation in federal, state and tribal courts
• Drafting regulations, ordinances and other legal documents
• Providing legal opinions and advice, including precedent-setting work



Proposals must include a detailed fee structure, outlining the proposed rates for staff and other associated costs. The fee structure must include the following:
• A breakdown of staff levels and corresponding hourly rates.
• An itemized list of all additional expenses or fees, including travel and other relevant costs

Timeline: Research and Writing to be completed by June 16, 2025

Conduct interviews with federally recognized Tribes and Tribes with ancestral ties to the Ohio River Basin (e.g., Seneca Nation of Indians, Eastern Band of Cherokee, Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, Miami Tribe of Oklahoma, etc.).

NWF has some established relationships with federally recognized Tribes; in other cases, the contractor will be responsible for reaching out to Tribes not already aware of this project.

Gather and document water, conservation, educational, and cultural priorities that Tribes want included in the Ohio River Restoration and Protection Plan.

Focus on water-related issues affecting the Ohio River Basin, including pollution, runoff, sewage contamination, and ecosystem health.

Synthesize findings into a well-organized chapter that clearly documents Tribal priorities related to clean water, conservation, and cultural preservation. The length of the chapter will likely be between 5 -15 pages.

Collaborate with NWF to ensure that the report aligns with the broader Ohio River Restoration strategy and incorporates feedback from Tribes.

Project 2: Identification of Conservation Priorities for Tribal Communities in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions

Conduct research and assist interviews with Tribal and Indigenous communities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, including Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Identify conservation priorities, particularly species of cultural significance to Tribal communities (e.g., moose, salmon, and other Species of Greatest Conservation Need).

Work with Tribes to identify conservation projects that reflect Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Indigenous stewardship practices.

Report: Synthesize research findings into a report that documents animal conservation priorities and species of cultural significance to Tribes.

Case Studies: Collaborate with NWF to develop 2-3 case studies that highlight best practices and lessons learned from Indigenous-led animal conservation efforts in the Northeast.

Presentation: Assist in synthesizing research findings to develop a presentation for environmental and conservation conferences.

National Wildlife Federation 

Project 1: Research and Writing on Tribal Water Priorities for the Ohio River Basin

Background: Stakeholders in the 14-state Ohio River Basin are collaborating on a regional plan to restore and protect the waters of the region. The plan will identify threats to the region (toxic pollution, habitat loss, sewage contamination, invasive species, etc.) and solutions to those threats. A main objective of the plan is to support the clean water and conservation priorities of federally recognized Tribes. The goal is to include those priorities in the regional plan. More information on NWF’s Ohio River work can be found at 

$25,000 for each project or $50,000 if both projects are combined.

Payment will be based on the completion of mutually agreed-upon milestones and deliverables.

You have experience working with Tribal and Indigenous communities, particularly in environmental conservation, water protection, or animal stewardship. You demonstrate respect and sensitivity toward Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK).

You possess strong research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate complex findings, both in reports and presentations.

You have a deep understanding of Tribal sovereignty, the importance of integrating Tribal perspectives into conservation planning, and are knowledgeable about Free, Prior, Informed Consent (FPIC) principles.

You are skilled in engaging with a range of stakeholders, including Tribal leaders, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

Note: Personal connection to and experience in the identified regions will be prioritized.

The contract will last 6-8 months, with final deliverables due by Fall 2025. Specific milestones and deadlines will be outlined at the start of the contract.

Create daily content calendar for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and occasionally YouTube, among others.

Create daily content for above platforms, ensuring consistency and adherence to the content calendar and brand standards.

Direct Marketing Associate on social media content creation as needed.

Take photo/video content with Eighth Generation’s iPhone and digital SLR, edit content, add transcriptions to videos, and write captions for posts.

Monitor key social media metrics and analytics to evaluate the performance of content and campaigns.

Eighth Generation

Under the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager will work closely with Eighth Generation’s marketing team and manage Eighth Generation’s social media accounts, creating daily content and engaging digital audiences by blending trending, product, and educational posts. The Social Media Manager may also assist in other daily marketing tasks. Our goal is to share authentic Native art, excellence, and values with a global audience while empowering customers to shop Native. 

Minimum 2 years’ experience in social media account management

Solid knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools

Social Media Manager 

Creates and follows the department’s budget, which includes ad purchasing, product and brand photography, developers and other marketing contractors, influencer and giveaway marketing, and more. Reports on budget and outcomes to CEO and occasionally Tribal Council.

Creates and implements B2C long-range marketing plan that encompasses strategic print and digital marketing opportunities; establishes high-level social media marketing goals; creates enewsletter, SMS, and blog calendar; identifies and implements store signage marketing opportunities, and more, for both the online retail business and brick-and-mortar establishment.

Working with the Director of Business Development’s wholesale, bulk, and custom projects goals, creates and implements B2C long-range marketing plan that encompasses print and digital marketing opportunities, creates wholesale enewsletter calendar; identifies and implements tradeshow signage opportunities, and more.

Identifies current audience and creates/implements strategies for retention, while identifying new audiences and creates/implements strategies for retention; critically assesses the effectiveness of ads at all points in the marketing funnel and reports regularly on effectiveness to the CEO.

Maintains and grows the press list; writes and distributes regular press releases to key members of the press.

Working with the Creative Director, plan and execute editorial photoshoots for all products, including identifying photographers, models, and locations; creating shot lists; critically assessing creative; and more.

Working with the Creative Director, establishes a product launch schedule that ensures a steady and seasonally-appropriate calendar. Follow the product launch process to manage each launch, ensuring artist participation; store, warehouse, and production preparedness; marketing materials and communications readiness; and more.

Maintains the company voice across all external communications, balancing authentic artistic representation and SEO-forward language in product descriptions; and identifying nuances of different social media channels’ voices.

Writes all product descriptions, working respectfully with artists to maintain their authentic voice and perspective throughout while unifying pages with company voice and SEO keywords; assist artists in naming products when necessary.

Maintains the company’s website, refreshing homepage and info pages as needed; creating all product, collections, and artist bio pages; trouble-shooting the customer experience through checkout; identifying and creating new pages and opportunities for further storytelling; and more. Oversees contracted developers and Shopify specialists to make changes to code or major functionality.

Oversees the work of the Social Media Manager and Marketing Associate to ensure appropriate assignment of tasks, find opportunities for growth, provide feedback on voice and visuals, and more.

Oversees the Social Media Manager to identify appropriate audiences and ad spend on Google and Meta ads as placed by third party ad agency.

Assist the Creative Director as needed to establish product prices that balance audience expectations and company’s revenue goals.

eporting to the CEO, the Director of Marketing is responsible for planning and directing the marketing team to execute on all external marketing communications, with an eye to maintaining current audiences and key press relationships while reaching new audiences. Together with the Creative Director, the Director of Marketing plans and executes editorial photoshoots for all products, ensuring new products are photographed for launches and existing product creative is refreshed. The Director of Marketing is a key member of the product launch process, co-establishing a launch schedule and having sole responsibility for many key points in the process. The Director of Marketing is responsible for key facets of the website, working with Shopify specialists and developers as needed to maintain a positive ecommerce site and experience for all customers.

Director of Marketing 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
• Provides daily administrative support to executive team including data entry, drafting correspondence or other communications as directed by leadership, printing, scanning, mailing, maintaining records and filing systems etc.
• Provides daily phone coverage at the Headquarters for all staff, inquiries, and customer questions
• Assesses priorities and competing demands and adjusts allocation of time and resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness
• Manages appointment scheduling, coordinating meeting logistics, arranges accommodations and travel for Staff and Artists as needed
• Processes and distributes incoming communications (via mail, e-mail, phone, etc.)

Under direct supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, provides computer hardware, software and user support to employees and departments. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. This position is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of IT Support Services. This includes supervision of IT Services consultants and contractors. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of IT Support Services. These duties include maintaining network services provided by Native Forward Scholars Fund servers.
