Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Human Resources Associate serves a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission by coordinating the recruitment and onboarding of new Alliance employees, the maintenance of employee records, and facilitating the overall organizational well-being of Alliance staff.

● Proven experience in Human Resources, preferably for a Native American Tribe, Tribal Organization, or Indigenous non-profit setting..
● Experience working in a Google Workspace cloud environment.
● Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● Experience working within Native American/Indigenous communities is highly desirable.
● This is a fully remote position. Occasional domestic travel may be required.

Human Resources Associate

This position has primary responsibility for executing a three-round evaluation process that culminates with a major public event and financial awards. The Assistant Director of Honoring Nations also develops and implements dissemination strategies that provide tribal leaders, public officials, scholars, and the public with resource materials designed to spotlight and facilitation the spread of tribal government best practices. As a key member of the Harvard Project on Indigenous Governance and Development team, the Assistant Director spends up to 20% of their time contributing to and coordinating with the Project’s other activities, including applied research and its application to Indian nations. Specific responsibilities include: Outreach • Identifies and recruits of Honoring Nations applications to the Honoring Nations awards program. • Works with the communications team to manage social media outlet content development and communications. • Maintains connections with the family of awardees. Awards Process • Leads each of the 3 rounds of evaluation. • Facilitates evaluation selections, including site visits during summer months. • Acts as the primary liaison with all applicant programs. • Manages and maintains relationships with the Honoring Nations Board of Governors. Dissemination • Curates digital content related to Honoring Nations awardees and the Project educational tools to facilitate the spread of tribal government best practices, including multimedia cases, online exhibits, Nation Building Toolboxes, and social media. • Coordinates dissemination efforts and media relations with communications team and with key institutional collaborators to amplify and share lessons from the awardees. • Speaks with and gives interviews to tribal and national reporters on the best practices in Indian Country. • Represents Honoring Nations and the Harvard Project at 8-10 domestic and international conferences and public speaking engagements per year. Program Management • Participates in organizational communications: writing, editing, publication design, public speaking, general correspondence. • Interacts with and builds strategic relationships with our communities of interest: tribal leaders, public officials, scholars, and others in American Indian affairs. • Assists with fundraising and grant writing, as needed. • Takes on other duties as needed and remains flexible in tasks required by the team.

Harvard Kennedy School Project on Indigenous Governance and Development

Reporting to the Senior Program Director for the Harvard Kennedy School Project on Indigenous Governance and Development (the Project), the Assistant Director of Honoring Nations is responsible for the day-to-day management of Honoring Contributions in the Governance of American Indian Nations Program (also known as Honoring Nations), a national award program that identifies, celebrates, and shares outstanding examples of tribal governance in the United States. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of American Indian affairs, exceptional communication and organization skills, and willingness to approach problems with creativity and collegiality. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience demonstrating increasing responsibility. Assistant Director of Honoring Nations

Director of Business Development

 Create daily content calendar for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, and occasionally YouTube, among others.

· Schedule daily content through Sprout Social.

· Create content for various platforms, ensuring consistency and adherence to the content calendar.

· Take and edit photo/video content with Eighth Generation’s iPhone and digital SLR.

· Write social copy for posts and add transcriptions where necessary.

· Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and appropriately to engage with our audience and address inquiries or concerns.

· Monitor key social media metrics and analytics to evaluate the performance of content and campaigns.

· Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices and leverage those to grow our accounts.

· Host giveaways on social media accounts.

· May assist on off-site photo shoots throughout the year (driving reimbursed).

· Assist with general marketing tasks as needed.

Eighth Generation

Under the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager will work closely with Eighth Generation’s marketing team and manage Eighth Generation’s social media accounts, creating daily content and engaging digital audiences by blending trending, product, and educational posts. The Social Media Manager may also assist in other daily marketing tasks. Our goal is to share authentic Native art, excellence, and values with a global audience while empowering customers to shop Native. 

Minimum 2 years’ experience in social media account management

· Solid knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools

· Able to receive and implement constructive feedback

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to differentiate “voice” among platforms

· Able to work with tight deadlines and on multiple projects at once

· General knowledge of Native American and/or First Nations issues

· Ability to work in Canva and Lightroom or Photoshop to edit photos; ability to work in Premiere, Lightroom, or InShot to edit videos

· Previous experience with Shopify a plus

· Associates or other 2-year degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Experience with Outlook, Slack, and Trello a plus
